Day 1 :  Arrival Bangalore and Transfer to Mysore with Srirangapatnam & Brindavan Garden

  • We welcome you at Bangalore Airport/Railway Station after which we’ll proceed to transfer to Mysore. Enroute, we’re going to visit several places on the way. Our first stop is the Srirangapatna, the capital of Tipu Sultan. It was the former capital of Mysore during the reign of the legendary King Tipu Sultan. Then we’re going to see Tipu Fort, which was built in 1537 as the second toughest fort in India.
  • Then satisfy your curiosity on the life of royalty by visiting Daulat Bagh Palace. The name literally means “Garden of the Sea of Wealth” and this is the summer palace known for the garden of Teakwood that surrounds it. We continue on our journey and follow to Tipu Sultan’s final resting place at Gumbaz. Also known as Gol Gumbad, it’s the Muslim Mausoleum of the sultan and his family surrounded by flowering trees, cypress, and plants he imported from various places.
  • We’re going to continue with our ride to Mysore, which is about 3.5 hours from Bangalore. As we reach the city, behold the famous city of temples and monuments hundreds of years old. History buffs, pilgrims, and tourists flock here to admire the ancient ruins and buildings all the same.
  • We’ll visit Krishna Raja Sagara Dam, our final schedule of the day. The dam was built in 1931, receiving flows from the rivers of Cauvery, Hemavathi, and Lakshmana Thirtha. You can also see the Brindavan Gardens nearby that’s free to enter and explore, adorned with beautiful terraces from which you can enjoy the view. Either relax while being surrounded by lush greenery or check out the fountain during its show schedule.
  • After arriving in Mysore, we’re going to check-in at the hotel for our overnight stay in the “City of Palaces.”

Day 2 :  Full Day Mysore Palace & Grandeur Tour

  • Enjoy your breakfast today before we set off for a full-day sightseeing to see the grandeur past life of Mysore, the capital of Karnataka known for its rich culture and old architecture. Nerd minds and history buffs alike will love exploring this city that is filled with stories of times bygone as old buildings stand as silent witnesses to those times, not to mention the unapparelled views and shrines that exudes reverence.
  • Starts with the Mysore Zoo, a 157-acre zoo that houses a wide range of wildlife and animals. As you head to the place, you’ll notice Chamundi Hills next to it that compliments the view of one of the oldest zoos in the country. It is the only zoo in India that has a gorilla, aside from orang utans and chimpanzees, and is a popular destination in Mysore for it. Families love spending quality, educational time here with the kids, introducing them to animals like giraffes, zebras, African elephants, bears, white deer, tapirs, otters, and more.
  • From the zoo, we head next to the Mysore Palace, also known as the Maharaja’s Palace, a historical site that used to be the residence of the Wadiyars. It’s one of the most visited monuments in Mysore, featuring some incredible architectural feats and where some incredible artifacts from times bygone are kept safe. The palace is surrounded by greenery and is made of mostly fine grey granite stones and pink marble domes. There’s a 145-foot gilded gold tower that overlooks this structure, a five-story beloved home of the Wadiyars.
  • We won’t stray far and head to Chamundi Hills known for its height and where the Chamundeshwari Temple was built. At almost the elevation of 3,500ft, one can enjoy the most incredible sight of Mysore city from above and naturally, cooler breeze and refreshing air. About 13kms away from the city, the Chamundeshwari Temple is a famous Shakti Peetha, known as the Krouncha Pitha where Sati’s hair fell. One can worship Shakti in the form of Chamundeshwari, which is her fierce form. It was originally said to have been built in the 12th century and the tower was added later in the 17th century.
  • While we’re on the hills, let’s not miss visiting the famous Big Bull, a giant image of the Nandi or the vahana bull of Krishna. This remains as one of the oldest and most iconic landmarks in Mysore as it’s a 350-year-old Nandi statue. The Nandi of Mysore is about 16ft tall and 24ft long, an image commissioned by Dodda Devaraja Wodeyar in mid 1600s.
  • Moving on, the Gothic architecture of St. Philomena’s Church is one to behold. The construction of this Catholic church mimics that of the famous St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. It was built in 1936 and is now one of the tallest churches in Asia at 175ft with some of the most gorgeous Neo-gothic architecture.
  • Then head to the Jaganmohan Palace, a royal mansion that is equipped with an auditorium and arts museum that showcases the artifacts and works of the past. Jaganmohan Palace was built in 1861 by Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar as a retreat for the royal family. Since it was converted into a museum, it has the largest collections of artifacts in South India.
  • After the garden, spend your evening looking around at the local market and shopping districts. Take a dip in looking around what Mysore has to offer, from silk saris, sandalwood artifacts & handicrafts, incense sticks, coffee, wooden toys, and Ganjifa paintings, which is a kind of traditional Mysore paintings. Then we’ll head back to the hotel after the tour for an overnight stay in Mysore.

Day 3 :  Transfer from Mysore to Coorg via Dubare Elephant Reserve

  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in Mysore before we check-out. And get ready for your ride to Coorg, which will take around 3 hours. Today’s highlight will be our stop at Dubare Elephant Camp, about 30 km from Madikeri. This is home to well-cared elephants with which visitors can interact and have fun with. Go on elephant rides, jungle safari, feed them, and more while you’re here (at extra cost).
  • We’re going to continue riding to our appointed hotel and check-in on arrival for your overnight stay.

Day 4 :  Madikeri Full Day Sightseeing Tour with Tala Kaveri

  • Breakfast, proceed to Tala Kaveri, the origin of river Cauvery on the eastern slopes of Brahmagiri peak at 1350 metres altitude, trek in Brahmagiri hills gives a breathtaking view of the hill ranges and is excellent for photographs The steps leading up to hills is steep but is climbable, later visit Bhagamandala - situated at the confluence of two rivers, the Cauvery and the Kanika, third river, the Sujyothi is said to join from underground. Visit to the temple dedicated to Bhagandeshwara (Lord Shiva) and get the blessings of the lord.
  • Post lunch visit Abbey Falls - Located 8kms from Madikeri town. Abbey Falls is situated in the middle of coffee plantations and spice estates. It is one of the best waterfalls in Coorg region. Abbey Falls cascades down the rocky slopes from a height of 70 feet into a pool. A hanging bridge has been built across the gorge here, from where the visitors can get a beautiful view of the falls. A Kali Mata temple on the other side of the bridge is also not to be missed. The path leading to the waterfalls is filled with thick vegetation and offers wonderful experience. (For those who has not visited on the previous day).
  • Madikeri Fort (closed on Mondays) - Still preserving its old charm, Madikeri Fort is one of the most famous historical landmark located in Coorg. An excellent example of spectacular architectural designs and styles of construction, the fort also houses Madikeri Fort Museum & the Kote Maha Ganapathi Temple. The elevated structures of the fort also provide panoramic views of the town, which is undoubtedly breathtaking and beautiful.
  • Sri Omkareshwar Temple - The Omkareshwara Temple is an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated in the town of Madikeri. The speciality of the temple is that its construction reflects a mix of Gothic and Islamic styles.
  • Raja's seat - The Raja’s Seat, which means the “Seat of Kings”, is a brick and mortar structure with four pillars. It is a popular viewpoint inside a splendid garden of seasonal flowers and musical fountains. The best time to visit Raja's Seat is during the early morning and evening hours to witness breathtaking views of Sunrise & Sunset. There is also an attraction of the Toy Train for children to enjoy a spectacular view of the mountains.
  • Later proceed to hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Coorg hotel.

Day 5 :  Transfer from Coorg to Chikmagalur Enroute Belur & Halebid

Breakfast, check out and drive to Chikmagalur, en- route visit Belur - it is the only Hoysala  temple still in active worship. The most marvellous specimens of Hoysala architecture. Halebid - the ancient capital of the Hoysalas. The temple complex has a  museum which houses the idols, statues, busts and sculptures excavated by the Archaeological Department from the ruins. On arrival check into resort.  Relax and overnight.

Day 6 :  Chikmagalur Full Day Tour

  • After breakfast, we’ll set off for a full-day tour in this beautiful region. This “Coffee Land of Karnataka” earned its name that means the “Young Daughter’s Town” as it was a one-of-a-kind dowry gifted to the younger daughter of Sakrepatna’s chief.
  • Enjoy the ride as we head to the twin peaks Mullayanagiri and Seethalayanagiri which are just 3km apart from each other. The Seethalayanagiri is about 5000ft or more than 1500m high. The ride up is filled with sights of nature and sceneries of the mountain range and plantations. There are parking lots that allow visitors to ride up where the peak is within walking distance. Mullayanagiri is the highest peak of the mountain range famous for the coffee plantations that are said to be one of the oldest in India. The Mullayanagiri is about 1930m or 6317ft high and is the fourth highest peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris. It’s also famous among trekkers for having an incredible view despite the fairly easy 3km climb from Seethalayanagiri.
  • The Baba Budan Giri is the name of the mountain range which shares the name with one of the tallest peaks here, at the height of 1895m. The range is also called Chandadrona, which means “moon guide” because of the shape of the mountain range that looks like a crescent moon. They are named after the Sufi Baba Budan who is said to be the person that brought coffee to India in 1670 from Yemen. The area is also famous for the fascinating Dattapeeta Cave which is said to be where his footwear was at and where he used to sit, hence the “peeta” name.
  • We’ll also visit the majestic Manikyadhara Falls of Chikmagalur just 1km from Baba Budan Giri. Watch as the powerful rush of nature of this perennial waterfall form a great picture of the nature of Chikmagalur. It is also known as the “stream of pearls” and falls to form the Nellikayi Theertha.
  • In the evening, we’ll drive on closer to the city for Mahatma Gandhi Park, or MG Park for a look around this beautiful park. It has an incredible view of Chikmagalur city and hills as the backdrop and where a statue of Mahatma Gandhi is erected. It’s famous for families to relax and children to play. You can also find a tree house which is a popular attraction among visitors.
  • We’ll drive back to your hotel/resort for an overnight stay in Chikmagalur.


Day 7 :  Transfer from Chikmagalur to Bangalore Airport / Railway station for Departure

  • Enjoy your breakfast before check-out from Chikmagalur and drive to Bangalore. We are visiting Shravanabelagola on our way there, a famous temple. It has become one of the most-visited Jain pilgrimage destinations because of the 57ft statue of Bahubali. This is the tallest monolithic statue carved out of a single granite block and one of the largest free-standing statues in the world, built around 981 AD. The temple is where Lord Gometeshwara is worshipped.
  • The ride continues to Bangalore where we’ll help you with your luggage for your departure. The tour ends as you bid goodbye to Karnataka’s land of coffee.
